Bryant or James? A Questionable Quandary

May 21, 2009 - Written by Glen

LeBron James's quick rise to excellence is almost unprecedented. Kobe Bryant, a distinguished player, has pulled the Lakers through difficult games and troubling matches with skillful play, occasionally compared to the great Michael Jordan. These two players have started a debate over the Best NBA Player, and it seems it will not abate until well passed the Finals.

Bryant holds confidence that casts light on him as being one of the best players of the sport. He is there when the Lakers need him, determined to tip the scales in their favor. There have been times where he pulled the team's weight and brought them a W or at least a close game.

LeBron James may as well still be labeled a rookie, but he has been sweeping the court with the ease and grace of a tiger. Where LeBron goes, destruction follows in his wake with not but a victory for his team. Shut Out seems to be the most prominent concept in his vocabulary, as the Cavs backed by LeBron have cleaned the court with the faces of the opposing team.

Bryant, like Jordan, lives in the moment. Both of these greats are the man who is shining glass when it counts, the one sinking those game winning points when the game is on the line. He has the making to win the title, but LeBron is still a force to be reckoned with.

The competition between the two will come to a head if the Lakers end up against Cleveland in the Finals. This will be an epic match between two lions, leaving one to come out on top and the other to come out in shock.
